Concept Statement:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This project will serve as an accessible, multifunctional space that will not only create a place for people to gather for community events but will also serve as an attraction for visitors. The heavy timber construction highlights the simple, dynamic forms of the project and acknowledges the regional significance of the lumber industry. The unique location in a state park gives great opportunities to highlight the beauty of the surrounding environment. Not only does the site have proximity to nature but it is also perched on the edge of the reservoir, which makes it an ideal site for a boathouse both for spectating races and launching boats. The program is focused around the \u2018heart\u2019 of the boathouse, the erg room. The erg room is the site of high intensity erg tests and team culture; therefore, it is highlighted with a double height ceiling and mezzanine on the second floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
