Who is she?
I am a pragmatic designer where collaboration, workshopping, and fun are key to my design process. My design process is dependent on discussion and feedback from my partners and advisors. I believe that challenging our ideas is the best way to improve them and that they must be examined by multiple perspectives. That is why it is important for me to foster a focused yet easy going environment where everyone feels empowered to voice their opinions.
The University of Oregon was my ideal choice because of their emphasis on sustainability. During my time in the College of Design, I learned and practiced numerous approaches to sustainability and design in general. Personally, I found adaptive reuse projects the most rewarding because of the unique historical and cultural contexts of existing structures; And I found my judicious and discerning nature well suited for the creative problem solving required to integrate a new program into an existing space.
In my career I want to pursue public interest design, facilitating meaningful community engagement in public projects. I hope to help community organizations achieve their goals by including them in the design process to create a better space for them.
I am always open to new connections, please do not hesitate to reach out!
