Luminous Connectors: Lawerence Hall Re-Imagine

Adaptive-Reuse University Facility, Spring 2025, 158,077 sqft

The University of Oregon’s College of Design has dispersed across campus, fractured into multiple campuses. The re-design of Lawrence Hall will revive the interdisciplinary culture which has historically defined the college. The proposal preserves some existing structures and includes the construction of two masses which adjoin the existing structure. This proposal focuses on developing the in-between spaces connecting the existing to new construction, focusing on daylighting and creating social spaces. Each of the three primary connections has an individual spatial identity, serving a different function for the diverse population of the college of design.
